May 2nd, 2009: Vietnam Tea Association Delegation to the US: To look for new markets in the US, a Vietnam Tea Association delegation of 10 members - led by Ms. Nguyen Anh Hong, Deputy General Secretary of the Association - will be participating at the World Tea Expo in Las Vegas from May 2nd to May 4th, 2009.

The Vietnam Tea Association's objective is to export 117,000 tons of tea and earn US $167 million this year, up 13.6% against last year. It is also planning to export US$ 1 billion in 2020. Vietnam now ranks the 5th among tea producers and exporters in the world. About 6 million Vietnamese people are living in tea growing areas and having income from cultivating, processing and trading tea. Made-in-Vietnam tea has appeared in 110 countries and territories. Especially, the CheViet trademark has been registered and protected in 73 foreign markets. Despite the rising input costs and the global economic recession in the last four months of 2008, Vietnam's tea export volume hit 104,000 tons, earning US$ 147 million, up 12.4% compared to 2007. In addition to exhibiting at the World Tea Expo, the delegation will be visiting Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC to meet with US companies that are interested in importing tea. U.S.-Vietnam Cooperation on Economic Development, Trade and Investment.
December 1, 2007: UVCC joined the Vietnamese American Entrepreneur Association, the Vietnamese Strategic Ventures Network (VSVN) and the Vietnamese Business Association (VBA) in co-hosting a reception in the San Francisco Bay area to Bid farewell to Consul General of Vietnam in San Francisco Dr. Tuan-Anh Tran and also to raise funds to support flood victims in Central Vietnam.
November 27, 2007: A 12-member delegation from Vietnam arrived in New York to start a 10-day trip in the US under a cultural exchange program organized by the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese in HCM City. The delegation also plans to meet with members of the US Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in various cities to explore business cooperation especially with the Vietnamese American companies.
